PhD Program

Purpose: Sports Management PhD program provides education within Akdeniz University Social Sciences Institute, Department of Sports Management. The aim of the Sports Management PhD program is to critically evaluate the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of Sports Management, to adopt a lifelong learning approach, and to specialize in the relevant field of science in order to renew and continuously improve their knowledge. Another aim of this program is to provide individuals who will work in the field of Sports Management and take part in the academic environment with the theoretical and technical knowledge given in the undergraduate program, by interpreting the concepts and ideas learned in the field of Sports Management at national and international levels, by making comparative and interdisciplinary analysis and applying them, by those who will specialize in this field. To provide and offer opportunities for more theoretical and scientific work in addition to practical training. In this way, it is to contribute to the development of individuals who think more rationally, have more knowledge, are based on cooperation and are based on science in their work environments.

Mission: The mission of Akdeniz University Sports Management Department is to be a highly qualified scientist who researches, produces and enlightens science for the future of generations with a high quality of life, in the light of universal values, by using scientific methods, who analyzes and transfers these to his students, and who analyzes existing studies in his field. To train researchers/academics who are knowledgeable, reach new findings and disseminate these findings.
